Training and Education Scholarships

Scholarships are available for every interest. 

While a career in construction can be started with little to no debt, BYF has partnered with other organizations to further reduce barriers to training and education.

These craft training scholarships are offered at various levels and for different interests.

The ICA awards national scholarships for aspiring certified professional home inspectors.

Recipients will receive full tuition to cover in-person or online home inspection training, valued at up to $2,500, with no strings attached.

Applications for the scholarship are open year-round, with selections made monthly. Interested parties are encouraged to share their story and apply through the ICA website.

Application Dates: Ongoing

The National Technical Honor Society annually awards five $2,000 scholarships to their members committed to pursuing careers in construction-related disciplines. Application requirements include:

  • High School senior and/or post-secondary NTHS member
  • Applicant personal information
  • Listing of awards/honors/training participation/certifications received
  • Letter of recommendation
  • Three essay questions
Application Dates: October 1 – April 1

The Associated General Contractors of America’s Workforce Development Scholarship is now open for for students pursuing associate degrees, technical training or certificates to enter the construction industry. Application eligibility includes:

  1. Applicant can be anyone who is planning to attend a technical school or
    approved craft training program in any discipline of construction, including a
    high school senior, military member, or postsecondary student.
  2. Applicant MUST desire a career in the construction industry.
  3. Applicant can be a full-time student or part-time student.
  4.  Applicant MUST be enrolled or intend to enroll in an approved accredited
    program. Approved programs include:
    a) ABET accredited
    b) ACCE (accredited or non-degree recognized)
    c) COE accredited
    d) ANSI accredited
    e) IACET accredited
    f) NCCER accredited
    g) Registered Apprenticeship program (federal or state registered)
    h) Other programs as approved by the Foundation
  5. Applicant MUST pursue degree, certificate or credential in a construction
    discipline or construction-related studies/programs.
  6. Applicant MUST be a U. S. citizen or documented permanent resident of the
    United States (i.e. must possess a “permanent resident” card).
