Careers in Construction Month (CICM) is a nationwide campaign held every October to increase public awareness of construction careers, inspire the next generation of craft professionals and showcase the positive impact a fulfilling career in construction can have on individuals and communities.
The I BUILT THIS! video contest gives aspiring craft professionals or instructors an opportunity to showcase their projects. Coming Soon!
Together, we can spread the word about the wide range of successful and lucrative construction career paths while promoting the benefits of a fulfilling career in construction. Our goal is to encourage both industry representatives and educators to create meaningful connections.
Take the pledge to participate in at least one classroom engagement, either virtual or in person. For example:

Every year, U.S. citizens are encouraged to submit a request to their state government to officially proclaim October as Careers in Construction Month and help raise awareness about the opportunities in the construction industry in their state.
Any state resident can submit a proclamation request, including students! Individuals or groups who help to get CICM proclaimed in their state can submit their documentation to be entered into a Build Your Future prize drawing.
